On the left, Saint Nicholas of Tolentino wears the black habit of the Augustinian Order and holds a lily and a book. Saint Anthony of Padua was one of the foremost Franciscan saints. Portuguese by birth, he spent his later years in Padua, where he is said to have had a vision of the Infant Christ when preaching on the Incarnation.
